Singapore Racing - Kris Fyler Sprint

Interesting race in Singapore for the sprint Group1 this weekend. Aussie bookmakers make Takeover Target (who has won at Royal Ascot and it’s last 2 group 1s in Australia) 8/11 favourite and Rocket Man (the local Singapore horse who is unbeaten in 8 runs) 6-1.

Watched Rocket Man last win and it wins easily but it is Singapore form and I imagine on day the locals will back it to win on the local tote so the odds of the foreign horses will go out.

Takeover Target’s win in the group 1 TJ Smith was very impressive and if it repeats that form will be hard to beat even though it’s subsequent Group 1 win was less impressive. On a strict reading of the form it holds many of these. It beat Apache Cat by 3 to 4 lengths and Apache Cat was only just beat by Inspiration in Hong Kong in December. Inspiration has since won a group 1 at 1000 meters in Hong Kong and did it nicely. 2 years ago Sacred Kingdom was the top rated sprinter in the world but has been injured since. It has taken a while to come to hand since but just scraped home in a group 2 last time at 1200 meters and the connections think it will come on for that, and it had Inspiration back in 3rd though it was receiving 3lbs that day. Waikato was beat by Takeover Target in this last year.

Prime Defender’s win at Haydock looks very average as it plugged on. Diabolical’s run in Dubai is hard to assess as it was on dirt, it was well beat but it is a Godolphin horse so could be open to improvement back on turf.

The tip. Takeover Target won this race last year. If it goes off at bigger than 2-1 then it is a good bet. Inspiration maybe the best of the rest.

AFL - Saturday Round 8

Most games this weekend have a clear favourite but many of the outsiders may go closer than many think and we will have a go at a few of them with taking the points start. North Melbourne have pushed Geeelong in Geelong before and we expect this game to be closer than the walkover most people will expect. Snap up North with a 46.5 point head start at $1.88 with Betfair.

The same goes for Melbourne. We will have a big bet on Melbourne with a 64.5 head start at $1.22, and we will also take some of Melbourne with a 34.5 point head start at $1.91 with Betfair.

Sydney, Brisbane and Port Adelaide all have home ground advantage, and will all start short favourites but all are definitely under the odds. To spice the weekend up we will have a bet on each of the outsiders - Adelaide with a 20.5 point start at $1.92, West Coast with a 23.5 point start at $1.97 and Richmond with a 26.5 point start at $1.83.

Sport is Made For Betting

How true!!!

Have just stumbled upon this site. Scott seems like a man after my own heart. On top of that after being involved on the inside at betfair, he probably has a lot of knowledge that all us punters could take advantage of.

You can visit his site here:

Canterbury - Wednesday

A little unlucky Friday night at Chester with Johnny Murtagh being heavily criticised for his ride on Frozen Fire. You can read the story here.

Today we will try and win our money back at Canterbury were we have heard a whisper that Kelconi Race 5 No. 5 will run an improved race compared to recent form. Should be at reasonable odds and worth a small each way bet.
